I’m Writing a Book About Dyslexia During January

This January I’m going to write a book about Dyslexia.

I’ll be posting 500 words of it on Medium every day during the month.

At the end of the month I’m going to submit it to Amazon to make it available in both print and ebook format AND I’m going to narrate it and make it available on Audible.

This book is going to be extremely tactical and practical.

It will be most useful for parents of kids with Dyslexia or ADD, ambitious students with Dyslexia, and for young professionals with learning differences.

If you want to follow along while I write this book and have a conversation with me while I write it please follow me on Medium AND follow me or friend request me on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cweitzman

I’ll be crowd sourcing some of the topics I write about and will focus on what people are most excited to learn about. If you comment, ask a question, or make a suggestion I will respond and I’ll take it into account. If you do so in a meaningful way I’ll add you in the credits of the book :) P.S. If you find spelling mistakes PLEASE let me know. I could use some help there :D

Below is the Table of Contents I intend to base my writing on. My question to you is, what sections are you most excited about? What do you want me to make sure to focus on and write about? Anything that is important to you that I did not include?

Table of Content

Introduction: Modified version of this facebook post to explain the feel I’m going for.

How I Went From Hating Reading To LOVING Books and Consuming 100 Books a Year: I could not read until 3rd grade. I would cry, fall asleep of boardroom mid-book, & get distracted easily. I HATED reading. When I was 14 I started consuming 100 books per year. Today I think that (other than giving and receiving love with other people) books lead to more personal growth and more happiness than anything else.

Self Advocacy: I can talk any “B” into an “A” (even in college engineering & science classes), can convince teachers that think dyslexia is “a myth” to give me accommodations, and always talk my way out of paying the fee to change flights last minute. There’s a system for how to talk like this and how to be persuasive. I’m going to teach you this system.

Technology & Speechify — Text To Speech: My Arsenal of Tools that Make Me Super Human, That I’m Now going to Teach You How to Use

How to Dream: The cognitive toolkit I use to be super ambitious, energetic, & happy; and the written exercises I use that make me always excited for the future.

Building Unshatterable Confidence

Spelling: How to deal wit sucking at it.

Never Procrastinate: My Bullet Proof Way

Asking for Help, Making it Easy for Other People to Help You, Being Grateful, and Love

Doubling Down on Your Strengths

Athletics, Sports, and Nutrition

Applying for College

Side-projects, Creativity, Hackathons, & Entrepreneurship

First, Learn How You Learn Best: Video, Audio, in Person, let’s figure it out :)

You Can Teach Yourself Anything on The Internet, Here’s How.

Brute Force: Sometimes when nothing else works, the brute force system of learning is the way to go.

Within any Human Ran System There’s a Way Around Every Obstacle: How to contact and convince the person at the top of any governance structure to help you or give you a special exception (example /story heavy section).

Me and My World View: This will be based on a 30 page paper about my world views I wrote at the end of college. It serves as an effective biography and brakes down how I came up with many of the life philosophies I employ most. I’ve had a very interesting two years since then so there is a lot to add :)

Much love ❤,

Cliff
